5.5 Indicator functions

The AIS transceiver includes four coloured indicators as shown in Figure 14. The state of the

indicators provides information regarding the status of the AIS transceiver.

The meaning of typical indicator configurations is shown in the table below and Figure 14 shows

the orientation of the AIS transceiver.

Green indicator only

The AIS transceiver is powered up, has a position fix and has transmitted at least one

vessel information report. If the green indicator flashes this indicates the memory

card is full and data logging has stopped.

Red indicator only

The AIS transceiver has detected a system error. The likely causes of this are

detailed in the troubleshooting guide in section 6.
